After the queue, the grand opening and finally getting through the doors of @victorspatisserie.uk these were the ones that came home with me. The mango mousse was almost too pretty to cut into. A delicate white chocolate shell filled with soft cream, tart mango compote and pieces of real mango. Bright, sharp and properly balanced rather than just sweet. The pistachio cheesecake looked like a little work of art. A rich, crumbly chocolate base topped with smooth pistachio cream and coated in crunchy pistachio pieces. I also picked up one of the pistachio croissants, which was absolutely huge properly flaky and buttery, with a generous pistachio cream filling. Delicious, but definitely enough to fill you right up. Everything tasted every bit as good as it looked. Poulton Hall opened its gardens for its July open day, and it felt like stepping into a little world of its own. You’re led through winding paths filled with flowers, unexpected sculptures and incredible wood carvings, with fairytale creatures appearing as you make your way around. There’s something new around almost every corner, and it’s the sort of place that is difficult to properly capture in a few photos or clips. The grand opening of @victorssweetdelights /@victorspatisserie.uk was genuinely brilliant and congratulations to them on having a queue out the door. The patisserie is on Water Street in Liverpool, serving some seriously beautiful sweet treats. I picked up the mango mousse and the pistachio cheesecake, and both tasted every bit as good as they looked. @liverpoolcoffeefest 2026 is over, and it was so much fun. Black Lodge Brewery was packed with coffee lovers, and we tried an unreasonable amount of coffee over the course of the day. One of the highlights was the tiramisu from @shotmisu. A proper treat, made with specialty coffee and much closer to the authentic Italian version than the overly sweet ones you often find elsewhere.
